The DREAM 8 paper on reverse engineering breast cancer signaling pathways was accepted in Nature Methods. Congrats to Laura, Steven & all! Wendy Hu's, Alex Bisberg's, Amina Qutub's, Dave Noren's and Byron Long's winning work on Biowheel & network inference algorithms will be featured.


Dec 10 BRAIN Initiative PI meeting in Bethesda. Amina will share the lab's neuroregenerative research & introduce the new project on neural network formation.


Amina Qutub presents on the lab's methods to interpret diverse biological data at the National Academies of Science, Engineering & Medicine Arab-American Frontiers of Engineering meeting in Thuwal.


Dec 1 The Segatori and Qutub Labs win a grant from the Kleberg Foundation to precisely modulate proteomic signatures of leukemia cells.

Nov 24 Ka Wai Lin passed his thesis on the role of insulin-hypoxic response crosstalk in brain cancer progression. Congrats Ka Wai!

Nov 24 Dan Beard (Univ. of Michigan) presents a Dept of Bioengineering seminar in BRC 280 at 4 pm.

Congrats to Dave Noren, whose paper "VEGF-Mediated Ca2+ Signaling Steers Endothelial Cell Phenotypes by a Combination of Stochastic and Deterministic Decoding" was accepted at Science Signaling.

Nov 11 Progeny Clustering code package is now available open source in the R repository: "progenyClust: Finding the Optimal Cluster Number Using Progeny Clustering".

    AUGUST 2015

    The Qutub lab, and our collaborators Jacob Robinson & Dan Wagner, won a NSF Integrative Strategies for Understanding Neural and Cognitive Systems program grant to study how neural progenitor cells form functional neural networks!

    Amina Ann Qutub will give a Keynote Address at the Houston Health Museum Summer Symposium July 10, and the Keynote Address for the IBM Women in Technology conference Oct 13.
